Magnetic bead belongs to electromagnetic interference noise element, also belongs to noise filter. They act as a series of resistors and inductors in a circuit. Their resistance and inductance vary with the frequency of the circuit. They act as high-frequency filters by exhibiting resistance as high frequencies pass through. The high frequency signal in the circuit consumes a lot of high frequency signal as it passes through the ferrite. It is because of the high frequency characteristics of ferrite that magnetic beads play a role in the circuit of high and low frequency resistance.
There are many types of magnetic beads, some of which have multiple holes. The passage of the wire can increase the impedance of the element (the square of the number of passes of the magnetic beads), but the noise suppression ability at high frequencies may not be as great as expected. Multiple series connected magnetic beads can be used.
When the ferrite magnetic bead is installed in the circuit, there is no need to set the ground point. This is the outstanding advantage of ferrite magnetic beads.
