Overview
A brushed DC torque motor is a type of DC motor. In a brushed motor, the stator is equipped with fixed main magnetic poles and brushes, while the rotor is equipped with armature windings and a commutator. The electrical energy from the DC power supply enters the armature windings through the brushes and commutator, generating armature current. The magnetic field generated by the armature current interacts with the main magnetic field to produce electromagnetic torque, which causes the motor to rotate and drive the load.
Application
In applications where noise, electromagnetic interference, and service life requirements are not high, brushed DC torque motors typically have high starting torque, good speed regulation performance, and simple control. Therefore, they are widely used in many fields such as military equipment, weapon systems, and aerospace.
