Current Sense Magnetics,also known as current sense transformers or current sense coils, are components used in electronic circuits to measure electric current flowing through a conductor. They work based on the principle of magnetic induction, where the current passing through a conductor generates a magnetic field around it.
Current sense magnetics typically consist of a coil of wire wound around a magnetic core. When current flows through the conductor passing through the center of the coil, it creates a magnetic field that induces a voltage in the coil. This induced voltage is proportional to the current passing through the conductor and can be measured to determine the current value.
These components are commonly used in applications where accurate current monitoring is required, such as in power supplies, motor control systems, battery management systems, and energy monitoring devices. By using current sense magnetics, engineers can measure and control the current flow in a circuit accurately, helping to ensure the safety and efficiency of the system.

Split Core Current Transformer
Split Core Current Transformer hall effect current sensor measure DC, AC and complex current wave forms with galvanic isolation. The advantages include low cost, small size, lightweight and low power consumption and are especially advantageous when measuring high currents. This sensor can be clamped on to the existing cable without interruption of the primary circuit.
