A high voltage inductor, also known as a high voltage coil, is a passive component used in electrical systems to store energy in the form of a magnetic field.

The basic structure of a high voltage inductor includes a wire coil wrapped around a core material, such as ferrite, iron, or air. The core material's primary function is to concentrate and guide the magnetic field, increasing the inductance of the coil.

 

High voltage inductors have several important characteristics:

High insulation: The insulation between the windings and the core must be able to withstand high voltage levels, ensuring that the inductor does not break down or arc.

Low parasitic capacitance: High voltage inductors are designed to minimize parasitic capacitance, which can cause energy loss and affect the inductor's performance.

High inductance: The inductance of a high voltage inductor is typically higher than that of a regular inductor, allowing it to store more energy in the magnetic field.

Low loss: High voltage inductors are designed to minimize energy loss, ensuring efficient energy storage and release.

When selecting a high voltage inductor, it's essential to consider the specific application requirements, such as voltage, current, frequency, and temperature, to ensure the best performance and reliability.

· High temperature operation, up to 180℃ continuous with no aging

· Low DCR to minimize losses and reduce temperature rise

· Powdered iron alloy core technology provides stable inductance and

saturation over operating temperature with satisfactory core losses

· Soft saturation gives predictable inductance decrease with increasing

DC current independent of temperature

· Standard terminal is stripped and tinned for through hole mounting

but other terminal configurations such as bare copper, SMD, and press

fit pin are available upon request
